Jack P - “I didn't have any expectations when booking this hotel, it seemed nice enough online. When I arrived I was a little taken aback. I felt like I was in NYC. The entrance is surrounded by dwarf olive shrubs, and attentive doormen immediately welcomed me inside a secured foyer. The scale of the lobby is astonishing, high ceilings, a massive fire place. It's really chic. I arrived after a long day of delayed travel and just felt like, oh thank god when I arrived. Like that feeling when you really nail it with accommodations. I had a corner suite that was spacious, well appointed, the bathroom was kind of insane with a huge bath tub. The room was so nice I invited friends back after dinner and we hung out there all night. The service staff were extremely friendly and knew me by name and it just felt like a really exceptional place. Amazing hotel. Grateful for the weekend it afforded me.”

Rob M - “I just stayed at The Marker Hotel and all of the staff was great, but Blanca and Nessa the Reception Team had the biggest smile every time I saw them making me feel so welcome and I just had to say thank you because it made me feel real good. The hotel looked very good, bed was comfortable, great bottle of free water in the room and the hotel is just one block away from a wonderful 24 hours diner. Plus the hotel is next to the theaters, so easy access to the plays. Speaking of good, you folks make really good coffee in the morning too. I'm a travel agent so I will work hard to sell your hotel!”

Stuart A - “Stayed here for two nights. Walking distance from the train station. Hotel staff so helpful, we asked for a kettle in the room and they brought us one. The reusable water bottles were a great touch. Reception staff were lovely and really helpful. Went into bar and restaurant attached to the hotel for a drink but never ate there so can't comment on the food although what I saw looked good. Would definitely stay at this hotel again it was the perfect base to explore the city.”

Frank M - “This was the best hotel I stayed in on my last visit to America, everything was perfect, from the courteous friendly welcome, to the grand staircase (they have lifts as well), the flickering fires in the great fireplaces, the library, and then when you reach the room, there is a wonderfully eclectic range of furniture, a shower, with a bath (always a bonus), free coffee and tea every morning. Oh and a fantastic location close to Union Square, and all the main attractions of San Francisco, when I return to SF, this will definitely be the place i stay.”

Lillie H - “Loved our stay! The location is great, a comfortable walk to cool places like Chinatown, art galleries, cafes etc. Cable cars can be picked up a few streets away. Close to Powell Street BART station for getting to/from the airport. Staff at The Marker were very friendly and helpful, they made us feel very welcome. Rooms are comfortably-sized, well-furnished, with tasteful decor and fun colours. I think the bed headboard shape was inspired by cable car arm rests too? Very cool. We liked the sliding door to the bathroom, and the shower: surprisingly powerful and easy to use. The building itself also includes generous spaces on the ground floor, including comfy chairs near fireplaces, sofas, and tables/chairs in their big windows. Thank you also for providing tea/coffee in the morning, and reusable bottles with water refilling stations in the building. That's a good nudge towards more sustainable re-use practices. It's in a great location, just a couple blocks from Union Square and where you can hop on a cable car to get to the Wharf area. They have an amazing Italian restaurant inside and the desk staff were all super friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfy, clean and spacious. Barbo B. - "Nothing we didn't love about this hotel experience. The hotel lobby is simply gorgeous with many comfortable seating options if you are waiting or meeting friends. Our rooms were large, beautifully furnished and the bed was heavenly. Very decent 24-hour fitness center that is clean and well-maintained. Glad we ignored the warnings about the neighborhood from last year. Major cities have houseless populations and San Francisco is no exception. We were last here in 2021, and the sidewalk situations are much improved since then. Geary is a pretty well-traveled street and we never once felt uncomfortable. Location was great - a few short blocks from Union Square."
